Sai Kaew Beach also known as Military Beach, is a tropical paradise with soft white sand beach and crystal clear waters, an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty.
This hidden gem promises an unforgettable experience for all who seek its peaceful embrace.
As you plan your visit, it’s important to note that there is an entrance fee to access the beach. You will be required to present an ID at the main entrance next to Sukhumvit Road to enter the Thai Royal Naval Base, so make sure to have it on hand.
Gentle waves invite you to cool off and sunbathe while relaxing on the beach and enjoying stunning views of the coastline and surrounding tropics.
A perfect destination for day trips, both families and couples can soak up the sun at this beach, ideal for little ones with its shallow waters.
Adventure seekers will find a variety of water sports activities. From snorkeling and kayaking to jet skiing and banana boat rides, there’s something for everyone.
The beach is very clean and has plenty of tree shade along the sandy coast. It also consistently has a cool breeze which helps with the hot Thai weather.
There are a few small shops and restaurants for visitors feeling hungry, along with a convenient free shower area available on site.
Watch out for monkeys. If you leave anything on the ground while you go for a swim, expect your food to disappear and your belongings to be strewn around.
Remember, Haad Sai Kaew might get crowded during holidays, but there is still enough space for everyone.
On the way to Haad Sai Kaew, there is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Pattaya.

October 15, 2023 at 3:55 pmA semi-remote beach in Sattahip, this beach is a must-go-to if you are staying in Pattaya.
With super clear water, this place is located in military territory. Here, you can do many activities such as coastal foraging, kayaking, scuba diving, etc.
When the tide goes down, a small hidden island appears near the beach, exposing lots of rocks and animals.

January 27, 2019 at 4:49 pmWonderful secluded Army beach with Monkey’s.
This is a wonderful beach to visit and not many people know about it. First of all, get yourself a car as it’s about 20 Km from Pattaya City. Pattaya has Beach Road, 2nd Road, 3rd Road and Sukkumvit Road all running parallel to each other. Drive up onto Sukkumvit Road and turn right, heading in the direction of the Floating Market on your left. Continue and pass Nong Nooch Garden also on your left.
Continue for about another 5 or so Km and you will see a large Military/Navy base on you right. Turn in here. A soldier will direct you to a passport hut on the left where you will give up one pasport per car. Usually the drivers passport. He will give you a pass so that you can collect your passport again at the end of the day.
Drive along the incredibly long road to the Beach ticket office where you will park your car and pay 100 Bhat per person for access to the beach. From here they will take you by truck/bhat bus up a very wyndy road for another 5Km and drop you off at the beach. On the road and by the entrance you will see many Monkeys. DO NOT FEED THEM. They’re used to humans and are happy for you to get close enough for photographs. On the beach you will pay a deposit for a deck chair or mat.
Pick this up yourself and carry to the place you want to sit. There’s plenty of food and drink on offer. There are boat trips, jet ski’s and the mandatory banana boat experience. As this is a military training area, tourists must be out by 6pm. One thing I will say is the sand here is like powder compared to other beaches. Also, the water is crystal clear with no pollution whatsoever.
Also, Pattaya has a rule that on Wednesday’s no deckchair traders can operate n this day. This is not true of Sai Kaew Beach. Deck chairs EVERY day. So, the perfect place to go on a Wednesday if you must have the chair/beach experience. Shade is provided by the trees so no umbrellas required. Yes, bit of an adventure to get there but worth well worth is.
